Jason Donovan and Rhydian are both looking forward to performing at Coast2Coast on Friday 29 July.
I am looking forward to performing in Rhyl next week alongside my good friend Rhydian. We last worked together during a UK tour of War Of The Words and have kept in touch since – so when we were offered the chance to appear at Coast2Coast it seemed like a good chance to meet up again and perform.
One of the ten good reasons next Friday looks like being great fun ! Look forward to seeing everyone in the big top on the seafront in Rhyl !
It’s going to be a huge thrill to welcome Jason Donavon to North Wales on Friday 29 July. Rhyl is a town I know very well being Welsh and having recently spent a month performing in the Pavillion. I know that the audiences in Rhyl are warm welcoming and really appreciate great music. I’m very close to Jason and it didn’t take me long to convince him that Rhyl would be a great place for him to play. I can tell you, he and I both are very excited to be performing there.
Eurovision and Coast2Coast stars come to Rhyl! Joe and Jake to open Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life event
Sunday 12th June Rhyl Outdoor Events Arena
The event, part of the annual nationwide fundraisers for Cancer Research UK, will see the boys entertain race participants and their supporters with a special rendition of their debut track ‘You’re Not Alone’ before sounding the canister horn to mark the start of the race.
Joe and Jake
Recently wowed audiences at the Eurovision final in Stockholm where they represented the UK to the delight of their fans, and are currently in the midst of performances all over the UK. Their appearance at the Rhyl Race for Life comes ahead of their performance at the Coast2Coast summer music festival in Rhyl on July 28th.
Before embarking on their Eurovision journey, the duo consisting of Joe Woolford and Jake Shakeshaft, both auditioned separately for the fourth series of the BBC’s The Voice UK in 2015 where they went on to be mentored by pop royalty Rita Ora and Will.i.am. Two became one when they both merged their talents after their run on show, forging a strong friendship and joint vision of where they want their musical career as a duo to go. They are currently going from strength to strength as their fan base grows and their bubbly personalities and energetic performances are certain to prove popular with the Race for Life crowd, particularly with Joe being a local lad himself.
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer faced by modern society. The Rhyl edition of Race for Life is being organised by Cancer Research UK and will take place from Rhyl Outdoor Events Arena and runs alongside the town’s promenade on Sunday 12th June from 11.00am. Joe and Jake will be appearing on the race podium at 10.45am to give some welcome words of encouragement and to perform their debut track ‘You’re Not Alone’ before sounding the starting canister horn at 11.00am.
Sian Davies of Denbighshire County Council said “Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is incredibly popular and always draws a huge crowd and we are delighted to be able to host such a worthy cause here in Rhyl. It’s great that local boy Joe and Jake are coming to start the Race as they are also such a key attraction for the Coast2Coast Festival in July along with UB40, Jason Donovan and Rhydian. They are certain to go down a treat.”
